When we met Kathryn and Eddie the couple had one thing to influence
their designs for invitations. A single peacock feather. Kathryn
wanted a vintage concept reminiscent of the 1920’s and the peacocks
that were popular at the time. We started with their save-the-date
postcards. The photographer supplied a beautiful shot of the couple
that are designers were able to modify with sepia filters and other
design techniques to make it look as though it had been printed in the
1920’s. Next we moved on to the invite. The design was complex with
intricate typography and elements that created a beautiful vintage
look. An application was placed over the design to create a gradient
that tied in the blues, purples, and greens from the peacock feather.
Since the response was done online we chose to mount the info and
invitation on teal shimmer cardstock in a white shimmer folded card.
Finally it was banded in the same teal and finished with a small
peacock feather. The seating chart took those same fonts and elements
to create a beautiful graphic for the guests to find their seats at
the reception. This invitation was original and a joy to design.
